The main objective of this course was to establish a working knowledge of the materials used in drawing, explore the expressive and descriptive potential of drawing; study elements of drawing such as line, tone, surface; develop and understand linear and atmospheric perspective; and develop knowledge of the elements of composition. Out of class projects are given every week, and students were expected to pursue assigned sketchbook projects throughout the quarter. This course was intended to facilitate student learning through individual exploration as well as peer-to-peer interactions.
